Good Evening Fox Families, this is your principal Anita Roane with this week’s announcements and reminders. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

We strive to keep our students safe at LCPS. As Superintendent Straley mentioned at the beginning of the year, we will begin using the Open Gate weapons detectors on Monday. Our students practiced the cadence of how to walk and carry their backpacks last week with the systems off and it went very smoothly. As a reminder we have asked that students not use rolling book bags, or binders with rings larger than 1 ½ inches and refrain from using metal lunch boxes.
Our students were given the opportunity to vote on the movie for our first family movie night being held on September 21st. They were given the choice between the movies The Angry Birds or Home and they voted during lunch on Thursday. The votes are in and the winner is The Angry Birds. It was a tight race. The Angry Birds had 266 votes and Home had 230 votes. Sounds like a great math problem there for upper grades students.
Don’t forget to complete and return your Den Fun Run and Family Cookout RSVP by August 31st. We want to make sure we are prepared for this fun event for everyone to enjoy. The class who raises the most money from the Fun Run will be rewarded with a pizza party. Grandparents and Grand Heroes Day RSVPs are also due back by August 31st.
