This is your Principal Mr. Street. As we move into October, we have some important reminders and exciting news to share!
First, with Halloween just around the corner, we ask that no food items be sent in for classroom celebrations due to the number of students with food allergies. If you would like to send in treats, please consider non-edible items like stickers, pencils, erasers, or glasses. We want to ensure that all students can enjoy the fun safely.
Additionally, our school policy for birthday celebrations requires that any outside food must be store-bought, unopened, have an ingredient label attached, and be brought in 48 hours in advance. This is a standing rule to help us keep our students safe, we appreciate your cooperation. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our school nurse at 540-967-1347.
Extended learning begins this week for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders! For students who are signed up, reading will take place on Mondays and math on Tuesdays after school until 4:45 PM. Thank you, families, for your support in this important program!
October is Kindness Month, and we’re thrilled to announce our coin drive to support the students and staff of Grayson County Public Schools as they recover from the effects of Hurricane Helene. The school that collects the most coins by October 18th will win an ice cream celebration for the whole school! Let’s come together to spread kindness for the Commonwealth—don’t forget to send in those extra coins!
A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Den Fun Run! Our foxes ran a total of 174 miles, raising an amazing $4,304. Special congratulations to Ms. Sorrells' class, who raised the most money and won a pizza party!
We’d also like to extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed to our Book Drive. Thanks to your donations, the PTA was able to purchase two books for every teacher to add to their classroom libraries!
Lastly, we’re so excited for our Fall Festival and Trunk-or-Treat this Friday at 5:30 PM. If you’d like to donate treats, please drop them off by Thursday and feed our Candy Monsters! We still need volunteers, so please consider signing up to make this event a big success. Fall Festival Volunteer
Thank you for your ongoing support and for helping make our school a wonderful place! Together, we can continue to keep our students safe, engaged, and kind.
Have a fantastic week, and we look forward to seeing you all at the Fall Festival!
