This is your proud principal, Mr. Street, and I want to start tonight by saying thank you. The love and support you showed our custodians this week for Custodian Appreciation Day was incredible. It meant so much to them and to all of us, and it’s just one more reminder of how special this community truly is.
We’ve got another exciting week ahead! In honor of Farm to School Week, we’ll all be dressing like farmers on Tuesday, October 7th. Friday, October 10th marks the end of the first nine weeks, so let’s finish strong. And don’t forget—our Altruismo Den Breakfast will be on Friday, October 17th.
October is Kindness Month, and we are celebrating our new initiative, “Kindness: A Decade of Difference!” This week, we’ll be focusing on spreading kindness to veterans and members of the military. Our Foxes will be making thank you cards and letters that will be shared across our community and throughout the Commonwealth. To cap off the week, we’ll be honoring our military during Friday night’s football game against Goochland. Military members will get in free with ID or in uniform—we’d love to see you there.
Now, let me share some exciting PTA news! On Monday morning, October 6th, PTA is piloting our brand-new Foxy Fuel program from 7:15 to 8:00. PTA is also bringing back Boo Grams, and we’re all looking forward to our Fall Festival on Friday, October 17th from 5:30 to 7:30. Please consider sending in some candy for our candy monsters—we need plenty for both the homecoming parade and Fall Festival fun! And if you haven’t joined PTA yet, now is the time—we’re pushing to top 200 members this year, and I know we can get there together. PTA Website
Before I close tonight, I want to shine a light on our incredible teachers and staff. They are the heart of this school. Their dedication, encouragement, and belief in our students fuel everything we do. They make learning come alive and ensure that every child feels seen, valued, and capable of greatness. I could not be more grateful for the extraordinary team we have leading our Foxes each day.
