This is your proud principal, Mr. Street, and I just want to start by saying thank you! What an amazing turnout we had at our Fall Festival — over 700 people came out! It was such a great sight to see so many of our families having fun together. A huge shoutout to our incredible PTA and to our entire community for always showing up and supporting our school family. You all make MNES such a special place!
This week is Spirit Week, and we can’t wait to see everyone showing their Fox pride!

- and Friday, of course, is Green and Gold Day!

With Halloween right around the corner, just a quick reminder — please don’t send in food-related treats due to allergies. Non-edible treats like stickers, pencils, or small toys are perfect. And remember, any outside food for celebrations must be store-bought, labeled, and turned in 48 hours in advance. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
We’re also excited to share that our students now have access to the FIRST IN MATH® online program! This fun, game-based site helps students strengthen their math fluency and problem-solving skills. Each student even gets a free User ID for a family member or friend. Login information and FamilyLink details were sent home with report cards last week.
This week is also National School Lunch Week and National School Bus Safety Week — so please take a moment to thank our amazing cafeteria team and bus drivers. They keep our students fueled, safe, and cared for every single day!
As part of our month-long kindness initiative, Kindness: A Decade of Difference, this week we’re focusing on Kindness for a Cause. We’ll be collecting change and donations for CASA, an incredible organization that helps foster children right here in Louisa.
And on Friday, we encourage everyone to wear your Green & Gold and come out to support our Homecoming football game in The Jungle as our Lions take on Orange! We’ll also be collecting funds at the game for our kindness cause.
Don’t forget to turn in your family engagement project this month — either your Pumpkin Book Project or your Disguise a Ghost Project. It’s a fun way to be creative together as a family.
I also want to give another big thank-you to our PTA for the wonderful Fall Festival and remind everyone about Boo Grams and PTA membership. Our goal is 200 members — and we’re getting close! Don’t forget to download the Box Tops app, too. It’s an easy and free way to help our school. PTA Website
Before I close tonight, I want to take a moment to brag on our amazing teachers and staff. They are the heart of MNES — the ones who make every hallway warm, every classroom a place of love and learning, and every student feel valued and seen. They go above and beyond every single day, pouring their hearts into our kids and making this school such a joyful, caring place. I couldn’t ask for a better team, and I’m so proud to stand beside them.
