Good Evening, Fox Families!
This is Mr. Street, your proud principal at Moss-Nuckols Elementary, and I can’t believe I’m saying this—but this is my last phone call of the 2024–2025 school year!
Wow—what a year it has been! It feels like we were just welcoming students back in August, and now here we are heading into our final week. Let’s take a look at all the fun and exciting things happening to wrap up our amazing year together!
Monday, May 19th is Field Day, and we are ready for some fun in the sun with games, laughter, and memories in the making.
Tuesday, May 20th is our SOL Carnival for grades 3–5—a chance to celebrate all the hard work our students have put in this year!
Then on Wednesday, May 21st, we’ll be celebrating our graduating Foxes!
- 5th Grade Graduation will begin at 9:00 AM,
- Pre-K Graduation will follow at 10:45 AM,
- and Kindergarten Graduation will kick off at 12:15 PM.
We can’t wait to see families join us for these special moments. Just a quick reminder: all guests entering the building will need a photo ID for check-in, so don’t forget to bring it with you!
Thursday, May 22nd is a half-day for students with dismissal at 11:00 AM. That’s also the day report cards will be sent home, along with school supply lists for next year.
Keep an eye out for our Summer Reading Challenge, too! We want all our Foxes to keep those brains sharp by reading throughout the summer—don’t let that summer slide sneak up on you!
And hey—if you’re still hoping to snag a 2024–2025 yearbook, we do have a few left in the office. Just send in $25 and we’ll make sure your student gets one.
Also, don’t forget—our students brought home their Flying Squirrels baseball game tickets for the May 28th game. We hope to see lots of Fox Families out at the ballpark!
If you have a rising kindergartener or know someone who does, it’s time to get them registered for next school year. We are so excited to welcome our newest Foxes to the family!

Now, before I wrap up this final call, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for the love, the encouragement, and the partnership you’ve shown all year long. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to serve such a wonderful community.
To our amazing M-NES staff—you are rockstars. The heart and dedication you bring every day make all the difference.
To our families—your support never goes unnoticed, and we are so grateful for the way you lift up our school.
And to our students—you’ve grown, you’ve learned, and you’ve made us so proud. We can’t wait to see what you do next!
Have a restful, safe, and joy-filled summer. I look forward to seeing everyone back in the fall for an even better 2025–2026 school year.
Foxes out!
