Good evening, Fox Families!
This is your proud principal, Mr. Street, and I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend. Before anything else, I want to take a moment to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms, grandmothers, aunts, and special women in the lives of our Foxes. The love, support, and encouragement you give our students each day truly makes a difference. And I also want to give a special shoutout to my own mom. I became a teacher because of her, and I’m thankful every day for the example she set for me.
As we head into another exciting week, it’s hard to believe we only have two weeks left in this school year. Our students have accomplished so much already, and we are excited to finish strong together.
This week, we’ll continue wrapping up our SOL testing. I just want our Foxes to remember that these tests are simply a chance to show all the learning and growth that has happened this year. We are proud of the hard work they’ve already put in, and now it’s all about staying confident, staying focused, and continuing to give their best effort.
Families, thank you for the support you continue to give at home. Your encouragement, positive words, and belief in your children truly helps more than you know. We are all in this together, and our Foxes are doing an amazing job.
Tomorrow, Monday, May 11th, we’re excited to host our Ceramics Showcase from 3:30 to 6:00 PM in the gym. Families are invited to come see the incredible clay projects our students have created throughout the year, and our chorus will perform at 5:30 PM. At the end of the evening, students will be able to safely take their projects home.
Then on Thursday, May 14th at 6:00 PM, we will hold our final PTA meeting of the year. We’ll celebrate a fantastic year and vote on next year’s board. We currently have openings for Treasurer, Fundraising, Events, Publicity, and Volunteer Coordinator, and we would love to have more families involved. I also want to give a huge thank you to our PTA for the support, love, and care they have shown our school community this year. We truly appreciate everything they do for our students and staff.
We’re also excited that yearbooks will be coming home this week! We do have a limited number of extra yearbooks available for $25 for anyone still interested in purchasing one.
Looking ahead, our 3–5 SOL Carnival will take place on Tuesday, May 19th as a celebration of all the hard work our students have put in during the testing season. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up using this link
And as summer gets closer, don’t forget about the Summer Reading Challenge through our local library. It’s a great way to keep students reading, learning, and engaged all summer long.
Before I wrap up, I just want to say how thankful I am for this school community. To our teachers and staff—your dedication, patience, and love for students is what makes M-NES such a special place. You give your all every single day, and I hope you know how much you are appreciated. It is truly an honor to serve alongside you.
And to our families, thank you for believing in our school, supporting our students, and allowing me the privilege of serving as your principal. I truly feel lucky to be part of such an incredible community.
Enjoy the rest of your evening, and we’ll see our Foxes bright and early tomorrow morning. Let’s make it a great week by working hard, being kind, and leading the way.
Foxes out!
