Good evening, Fox Families!
This is your proud principal, Mr. Street, and I hope you’ve had a wonderful Sunday. I always enjoy this chance to check in and share what’s happening around our school, and there is a lot of excitement ahead this week at MNES.
First, our learning cottages will be arriving this week. You may notice a few small adjustments to our traffic flow during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. We truly appreciate your patience and flexibility as we get everything set up and settled in.
Our Book Fair is also here this week, and students will have the chance to visit during their library resource time. If you’re interested in volunteering to help with the Book Fair, we would love to have you. As a bonus, if you volunteer, your student will receive 20% off their purchase. You can find the volunteer sign-up here
Speaking of books, many of our students are reading Stuart Little, which introduces us to Stuart, a mouse who is part of the Little family. That leads to a fun question to talk about at home tonight—would you want a mouse as part of your family? Why or why not?
That story also connects to a fun event coming up. Our Title I Family Movie Night will be held at the Goochland Drive-In on March 24th and 25th, where we’ll be showing Stuart Little. Families will receive snack vouchers for the Goochland Snack Shack, and the gates will open at 5:30 each evening. It’s always a great night of family fun, and we hope to see many of our Fox families there. You can reserve your tickets using the link shared with this message. https://bit.ly/4aJXjxw
Our Den Leaders are also continuing to collect items for the Louisa County Animal Shelter. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to helping animals in need.
This Friday will be our final Den Breakfast of the year as we celebrate the Reveur Den. If your child is part of Reveur, you’re welcome to join them for breakfast from 7:30 to 8:00. And as always, students should wear their den shirts or den colors that day.
Friday evening will also be a big night here at MNES as the PTA hosts Bingo Night and a Silent Auction starting at 6:00 PM. There will be 20 bingo prizes, 30 silent auction baskets from local businesses, and even some special teacher and staff experiences available to bid on. Pizza and concessions will be available as well, and it’s always a fun community event.
Looking ahead, please mark your calendars for our Math and Literacy Family Night on March 31st from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. We’re planning a night full of hands-on games and activities that make learning fun, and every family will leave with resources you can use at home.
Also, a reminder that Pre-K applications and Kindergarten registration are now open for the 2026–2027 school year.
Before I go, I want to thank you for the way you continue to support our school. Our families make this such a special place. And I also want to give a big shout-out to our teachers and staff. They pour their hearts into our Foxes every single day, and our students are better because of them.
Thank you for being such an incredible community.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, and we’ll see our Foxes tomorrow morning. Let’s make it a great week by working hard, being kind, and leading the way.
Foxes out!
