Good evening, Fox Families!

This is your proud principal, Mr. Street, and I hope you’ve had a wonderful Sunday. I always appreciate this time to connect and share a few highlights and what’s ahead for our school.

I want to start by saying thank you. It was so great seeing so many of you out this past week at One Book One Louisa, the Arts Festival, and the High School Musical. That kind of support means so much to our students and truly shows what a special community we have. And a big shoutout to our chorus students who performed at the Arts Festival and all our artists on display—they did an amazing job and made us all proud!

Looking ahead to this week, we’re excited for our Spring Math and Literacy Night, “Road Trip Across the USA,” happening Tuesday, March 31 at 6:00 PM. It’s going to be a fun evening filled with learning and time together as a family.

On Friday, April 3rd, we’ll be celebrating Career Day. Students are encouraged to dress as what they want to be when they grow up. As you’re planning those outfits, just make sure they follow our division dress code—no toy weapons allowed. We can’t wait to see all the creativity and future dreams on display.

Spring Break is just around the corner, April 6th through the 10th. We hope this gives everyone time to rest, recharge, and come back ready to finish the year strong.

We’re also beginning to look ahead to some exciting events. Our 3–5 SOL Carnival will take place on May 19 as a celebration of our students’ hard work. We’ll be looking for a few parent volunteers to help make that day extra special, so keep an eye out for more information coming soon.

This is also the final call for Flower Grams. If you’d like to brighten a teacher or staff member’s day, orders are due by March 31st. Flower Grams will be delivered during the school day on April 17th, and Spring Fest will take place later that evening at 5:30. It’s shaping up to be a great event for our families. We also encourage you to consider joining the PTA and downloading the Box Tops app—we’re very close to reaching our goal. https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/flower-grams-spring--2026

We are also continuing to accept Pre-K applications, and Kindergarten registration is open for the 2026–2027 school year. Be sure to select the correct school year when applying.

Before I wrap up, I also want to recognize that Saturday, April 4th is National Librarian Day. We are so thankful for Mrs. Youel and all she does to help our Foxes grow a love for reading.

As we close, I want to take a moment to celebrate our incredible teachers and staff. This week is LCPS Division-wide Staff Appreciation Week, and there is no better time to let them know how much they mean to all of us. Our staff are true rock stars, and I hope each and every one of them knows how valued they are. I encourage our families to take a moment this week to write a quick note, send a message, or do something small to show your appreciation. It truly makes a difference.

Their dedication, care, and heart are what make M-NES such a special place. The future is bright because of them, and I feel incredibly lucky to serve alongside them and be part of this amazing community.

Thank you again for being such a supportive community. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, and we’ll see our Foxes bright and early Monday morning. Let’s make it a great week by working hard, being kind, and leading the way.

Foxes out!
