Good evening, Fox Families!

This is your proud principal, Mr. Street, and I hope you’ve had a wonderful Sunday. I always appreciate this time to connect and share what’s coming up for the week ahead at M-NES.

I’m excited to share that we are launching a new program called Future Foxes for our youngest learners who will be joining us in the future. We’re really looking forward to building those early connections with our families, and we encourage you to check it out and share this opportunity with any families you know who may have future Foxes at home.

We’re also excited to kick things off on Monday, March 23rd with our spring class and individual pictures. We can’t wait to see all of our Foxes smiling bright for the camera!

I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who donated and supported our Senior Den Leaders as they collected supplies for the Louisa County Animal Shelter. Your generosity truly makes a difference.

This week is also our Art Festival Spirit Week, and we’re looking forward to seeing all the creativity from our students. Monday is Decades Day, Tuesday is Dress as Your Favorite Artist, Wednesday is Neon Day, Thursday is Pattern Day, and Friday is Wear Your Favorite Color. We hope to see many of you at the Art Festival this Saturday, March 28th at LCHS from 10 to 2.

A quick note for our 5th grade families—students will be taking their IRW test on Wednesday, March 25th, so please encourage them to do their best and give them a little extra encouragement this week.

Also for our 5th grade families, the Rising 6th Grade Parent Night has been rescheduled for Monday, March 23rd from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at LCMS.

Looking ahead, Flower Grams are coming soon through our PTA. This is a great way to brighten the day of our teachers and staff. Orders are due March 31st and will be delivered April 17th, just in time for Spring Fest. We also encourage you to consider joining the PTA and downloading the Box Tops app—we are very close to reaching our goal!

We are also now accepting Pre-K applications, and Kindergarten registration is open for the 2026–2027 school year. Be sure to select the correct school year when applying.

Don’t forget about our Spring Math and Literacy Night, “Road Trip Across the USA,” happening March 31st at 6:00 PM. It’s going to be a fun night for the whole family.

And it’s finally here—our Title I Family Movie Night is this week! Join us at the Goochland Drive-In on March 24th or 25th to watch Stuart Little. Doors open at 5:30, and families will receive snack vouchers for the Goochland Snack Shack. Be sure to reserve your tickets using the link or QR code shared with families. We can’t wait to see you there! https://bit.ly/4aJXjxw

And for our Foxes, here’s something to think about—at the end of Stuart Little, Stuart sets out on a journey to find his friend. What do you think will happen next? Will he meet new friends along the way?

Also, if you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, consider checking out the high school musical at LCHS from Friday through Sunday.

As always, I want to take a moment to thank our incredible teachers and staff. They are truly the heart of our school. Their dedication, care, and hard work make M-NES such a special place, and I feel incredibly lucky to serve alongside them and be part of this amazing community.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, and we’ll see our Foxes bright and early Monday morning. Let’s make it a great week by working hard, being kind, and leading the way.
