Good evening, Fox Families!
This is your proud principal, Mr. Street, and I hope you’ve had a wonderful Sunday. I always enjoy this time to check in and share a few of the great things happening around M-NES.
First, thank you to everyone who volunteered or supported our Book Fair this past week. Your support helps put great books in the hands of our students, and reading at home truly makes a difference.
Just a reminder that tomorrow, Monday, March 16th, school will be closed for a teacher workday. We are excited to welcome our Foxes back on Tuesday morning.
I also want to congratulate our 24 Team for competing this past week. We are proud of the way they represented our school!
This is the final week we are collecting supplies for the Louisa County Animal Shelter, so thank you to everyone who has already helped support this great cause.
Report cards will go home this Friday, March 20th, and it’s hard to believe we only have one nine weeks left in this school year. Our students have worked incredibly hard, and we’re excited to finish the year strong.
Next week, March 23rd through the 27th, will be our Art Festival Spirit Week, so be on the lookout for the fun themes coming your way.
I also want to thank everyone who came out for PTA Bingo Night. With about 150 people in attendance, it was a great evening and together we raised around $2,000 through the silent auction. What a wonderful example of our Fox community coming together.
Looking ahead, Flower Grams are coming soon through the PTA. This is a great way to brighten the day of your favorite teachers and staff. Orders are due March 31st and will be delivered April 17th, just in time for Spring Fest.
We are also now accepting Pre-K applications, and Kindergarten registration is open for the 2026–2027 school year. Just be sure to select the correct school year when applying.
Don’t forget about our Spring Math and Literacy Night, “Road Trip Across the USA,” happening March 31st at 6:00 PM. It’s going to be a fun evening of learning and family activities.
And speaking of family fun, our Title I Family Movie Night is coming soon! Join us at the Goochland Drive-In on March 24th or 25th to watch Stuart Little. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and families will receive snack vouchers for the Goochland Snack Shack. Be sure to reserve your tickets using the link or QR code shared with families. https://bit.ly/4aJXjxw
Before I go, I have a quick question for our Foxes. In Stuart Little, Stuart becomes friends with a bird named Margalo who helps him when he’s in trouble. Can you think of a time when you helped a friend? Small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
As always, I want to take a moment to thank our incredible teachers and staff. They are truly the heart of this school. Their dedication, care, and hard work are what make M-NES such a special place, and I am incredibly lucky to serve alongside them and be part of this amazing Fox community.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, and we’ll see our Foxes Tuesday morning. Let’s make it another great week by working hard, being kind, and leading the way.
Foxes out!
