Good Evening, Fox Families!
This is your proud principal, Mr. Street, and I have to tell you—what an incredible start to the school year! Our first few days have been absolutely amazing, and I could not be more proud of our Foxes. The smiles, the energy, and the excitement throughout the building have been so much fun to see.
And once again, thank you to our entire community for being so supportive and for trusting us with your children. We truly appreciate you, and we are so thankful to be part of this amazing Fox Family!
I have just a few quick reminders for the week ahead.
First, please remember that no outside food will be permitted at school through August 31st, and all outside food must be received at least 48 hours in advance. The safety of our students is always our priority. Please also make sure you have completed the registration information that includes the LCPS clinic information. Students will not be permitted to receive outside food until this information has been received.
And while we're talking about registration, please make sure you have completed your child's online registration. If registration is not complete, your child will not have access to a school device until it is completed.
This week, we will also have a lockdown drill and a fire drill. These are simply practice opportunities to make sure our students and staff know what to do and can respond safely. We just wanted to give everyone a heads-up so there are no surprises.
One quick request that will really help our office and transportation teams: whenever you send in a bus note or office note, please make sure your young Fox's first and last name is included. That helps us get the right information to the right student quickly.
I also want to give another big shout-out to our PTA! We already have more than 100 PTA members, so thank you to everyone who has joined. If you haven't yet, please consider joining our PTA.
Our first General PTA Meeting will be Thursday, August 20th at 6:00 PM right here at M-NES. We'll adopt our 2026–27 budget and share some exciting events and plans for the year, including our Fun Run on Friday, September 11th. We also still have a couple of open PTA Board positions for anyone interested in getting more involved. We'd love to see you Thursday!

As I look back on these first few days, I just want to say thank you. Thank you to our students for coming in ready to learn, thank you to our families for your support, and thank you to our community for continuing to believe in Moss-Nuckols.
And I have to end by saying how incredibly fortunate we are to have the greatest teachers and staff on the planet right here at Moss-Nuckols. They have poured so much time, energy, and heart into making this first week so successful. It is truly an honor to serve alongside them, and I am so proud to call them my team.
