Good evening, Fox Families!
This is Mr. Street, your proud principal at Moss-Nuckols Elementary, with a few exciting updates as we head into another fantastic week together!
First off, I want to send a huge THANK YOU to our incredible families for making Staff Appreciation Week so special. From the sweet notes and kind words to all the thoughtful treats, our amazing team felt truly celebrated—and we couldn’t do it without you!
Now, looking ahead—SOL testing kicks off this week for our 3rd through 5th grade students. These assessments are a great way for our kids to show what they’ve learned this year, and we already know they’re going to shine. You can help by making sure they get a good night’s sleep, arrive at school on time, and hear lots of encouragement from home. We believe in our Foxes and all the hard work they’ve put in!
And here comes the fun part—Spring Fest is happening this Friday, April 25th, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM right here at M-NES! This is one of our favorite events of the year. We’ll have local vendors, a petting zoo, rock painting for our garden, and even a chance to help refresh our outdoor classroom space. If you’d like to volunteer and be part of the fun, check out the sign-up link in the email. Spring Fest Volunteer
But wait—there’s more! On Saturday, April 26th, Louisa County Public Schools will host a Job Fair at the high school. If you—or someone you know—has ever thought about joining our amazing LCPS family, this is a great time to explore the opportunities! We’d love to welcome even more awesome folks to our team. https://forms.gle/qbBu9XhX2toCkQ3i7
Also, don’t forget to join in the fun with our PTA’s Big Bogg Bag Giveaway! Just visit the Moss-Nuckols PTA Facebook page, follow along, and nominate a staff member you appreciate. It’s such a fun and easy way to give our awesome team some extra love.
Kindergarten registration is open, too! If you have a future Fox—or know someone who does—check out our school website or the email for all the links and info you need to get started. We can’t wait to meet our newest little learners! https://kindergarten.lcps.k12.va.us

And one last reminder, in honor of School Bus Driver Appreciation Day on Tuesday, April 22nd—please remember that Pre-K through 2nd grade students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the bus stop. Our drivers do an amazing job every day, and your help with this is so appreciated!
As always, I want to thank our phenomenal staff for everything they do to make MNES the best. And thank YOU, families, for your partnership, your energy, and your heart. Let’s make it another incredible week—stay kind, work hard, and keep that Fox spirit strong!
Have a great week—
Foxes Out!
