This is your proud principal, Mr. Street, and I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend. We are excited to see our Foxes back and ready for a big week ahead!
I always appreciate this time to connect and share what’s coming up.
First, just a quick reminder that on Tuesday, April 21st, school will be closed due to the special election.
Also on Tuesday, April 21st, we’re excited for our Kindness ROCKS event at Thomas Jefferson Elementary from 12:00 to 2:00. Our students will come together to create kindness rocks that will be shared throughout our community. Thank you to all of our families for supporting this event—our Foxes continue to show that kindness is always cool, and we’re proud of the way they represent our school.
As we move into the week, Thursday marks the start of our SOL testing, with our 5th graders kicking things off with the Reading SOL. This is a big moment for our students—it’s their opportunity to show just how much they’ve grown this year, and we are excited for them to shine.
Families, you are such an important part of this. A good night’s sleep, a few words of encouragement, and a reminder to take their time and give their best effort can go a long way. We believe in our Foxes, we know they’re ready, and we can’t wait to see them do something special this week.
I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who came out to Spring Fest. It was great seeing so many of you there. And a very special thank you to our PTA for everything they have done this year. The care, support, and encouragement you’ve shown to our staff and school community does not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciate all that you do.

A quick reminder that the final day to turn in picture money or return unwanted photos is May 4th.
And as we continue to look ahead, our 3–5 SOL Carnival will take place on May 19 as a celebration of our students’ hard work. If you are interested in volunteering please sign up using this link.
Before I wrap up, I want to take a moment to recognize our staff. It is truly an honor to serve alongside such an incredible group of educators. Each and every day, they pour their hearts into this school and into our students. They are the foundation of everything we do, and because of them, we are on track to accomplish something really special this year. I’m grateful for each and every one of them, and our students and families are better because of their dedication.
