Good Evening, Fox Families!
This is your proud principal, Mr. Street, and I have to tell you—I am so excited that we are finally here! Our first official day of school is this Wednesday, August 12th, and after seeing so many smiling faces at Open House, I can honestly say I cannot wait to get this year started. What an amazing community we have here at Moss-Nuckols!
Just a quick reminder that our doors will open at 7:50, the tardy bell will ring at 8:10, and dismissal will begin at 3:05. Please make sure your child knows how they are getting home on Wednesday. If there are any changes to transportation, please give us a call and send a note or email so we can make sure we have everything covered.
Also, please send back any registration and classroom forms that are still outstanding. If something is missing, we’ll be reaching out to families over the next few days. And if you still need to complete registration, you can find everything you need here: LCPS Registration
This week, our students will also begin some safety drills and assemblies. Nothing to worry about—we're simply practicing so everyone knows what to do and feels safe and confident at school.
I also want to give a huge thank you to our PTA for hosting our PreK and K Signing Day! Our PTA does so much to make Moss-Nuckols a special place, so if you haven't joined yet, it's just $5 and we'd love to have you be part of it. And don't forget about Box Tops—it's another simple way to support our Foxes!
And before I let you go, I have to brag on our staff for just a minute. I know I say it often, but I truly mean it. We have an incredible group of teachers and staff at Moss-Nuckols. They have spent countless hours getting classrooms ready, planning lessons, preparing materials, and thinking about how they can make this a great year for your children.
What I appreciate most is that they don't just prepare classrooms—they prepare to care for our young foxes. They work hard, they care deeply, and they want every child who walks through our doors to know that they belong here. I am incredibly thankful that I get to serve alongside them, and I am thankful to all of you for trusting us with your children every day.
So, Fox Families, let's get this year started with plenty of Fox Pride—by being kind, working hard, and leading the way.
