M-NES Principal's Update Image

Good Evening Fox Families,

This is your principal, Mr. Street, calling with your weekly update. I hope everyone is well-rested and ready to return after our extra days off due to the snow. It sure was quiet and lonely without our young foxes in the building, but I can’t wait to see all your bright smiles and renewed energy this week!

A few important updates as we jump back into the swing of things:

  • Report cards will be sent home on Monday, January 13th. If you don’t see your child’s report card Monday evening, please contact the front office and we’ll happily provide a copy.
  • Be on the lookout for Extended Learning and Foxy Den Attendance Academy forms coming soon! These programs are for students who qualify, so keep an eye out for more information.
  • Remember, there will be no school next Monday, January 20th, as we observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
  • Isibindi Den Breakfast is scheduled for Friday, January 24th, at 7:30 a.m. We can’t wait to celebrate with all our Isibindi Den members. Invitations will go home soon!

We’re also excited to announce that LCPS will begin accepting preschool applications for the 2025–2026 school year starting Tuesday, January 21st. If your child will be 4 years old by September 30, 2025, they may be eligible to enroll. Look for an information flyer coming home this week!

And here’s something fun to look forward to: The PTA will be hosting an M-NES Talent Show on Friday, February 7th! We can’t wait to showcase the incredible talents of our foxes. If your child is interested in participating, please complete the form. Talent Show

Before I wrap up, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude. A huge thank you goes out to our amazing custodians and maintenance team for working so hard this past week to ensure our building is safe, clean, and ready for our students. Your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed, and we appreciate all you do!

And of course, I’m endlessly grateful for the phenomenal teachers and staff at M-NES. Your hard work and commitment to our students and families make our school truly special.

Thank you, families, for all your continued support. Let’s make it a fantastic week ahead!

Foxes Out!
