Good Evening Fox Families,
This is your principal Mr. Street. This week, I want to start by expressing my gratitude to our amazing parents, teachers, and students for their continued hard work and support. It's wonderful to see everyone’s dedication.
As you may know, each October, we celebrate #Kindness Month here at Louisa County Public Schools. We are excited to announce several different initiatives that we will be participating in this month.
First, we will be collecting Coins for Kindness from October 7th to October 18th, with all of the proceeds going to benefit the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office and its K-9 officers. Then, we will also be collecting Cans for Kindness from October 21st to the end of the month, with all proceeds going to the Louisa County Resource Council.
Finally, we are also accepting nominations for Everyday Heroes. These are individuals, groups, non-profits, and businesses from all across our community that never seek the spotlight, but are making a POSITIVE difference in the world around them.
To submit a nomination, just visit our division website (lcps.k12.va.us) and click the banner at the top of the page. Everyone who is nominated will receive a kindness package courtesy of our students here at LCPS.
Please don’t forget the Book Fair is this week. Thank you to our families who have already donated to our Book Drive for teachers! If you would like to contribute, please send cash or checks to the school by this Thursday, or use the PTA PayPal. These donations will allow our teachers to shop at the Book Fair to add new books to their classroom libraries.
Exciting news: The PTA is gearing up for our Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat, now less than two weeks away! Be sure to submit your RSVPs by this Friday and keep feeding our Candy Monsters! All donated candy will be used for the Trunk or Treat event. We can't make this event a success without volunteers, so please check out our SignUpGenius and consider signing up to help out. Your support makes all the difference! Fall Festival Volunteer
Reminder: Fun Run donations are due by Monday! If you haven’t sent in your contributions yet, please remember to do so.
A big thank you to everyone supporting our school by collecting Box Tops! So far this school year, we've earned over $300! Remember, you can easily scan paper receipts or upload digital ones using the Box Tops app. If you have a Walmart account, you can even link it directly to your Box Tops account to automatically collect earnings. Download the app and follow the simple steps to continue supporting our school.
Finally, I am excited to announce that in honor of Youth Sports Recognition Night, our M-NES 5th graders have been invited to hold the large flag as part of this week’s pregame festivities. Please join us as the Lions take on the Monticello High School Mustangs and support our M-NES 5th graders.
Foxes Out
