MNES Peek at the Week: 4/8/2018
Posted on 04/08/2018

Greetings Moss-Nuckols Families!  This is Anita Roane with the weekly announcements.  I hope that you enjoyed a lovely Spring Break and your children are eager to return to school.  Our staff is ready to finish out the school year strong. I am excited to be celebrating our instructional staff this week for Teacher Appreciation Week!  Wednesday, April 11, is also Assistant Principal Day. April is National Autism Awareness Month and we will be incorporating some activities and information throughout the month to raise awareness.  Don’t forget the new schedule will begin Monday, April 9th through the end of the school year.

The Foxy Focus for April is Perseverance

Perseverance means staying strong through tough times and continuing to work hard and do the right thing even when it is hard. It requires not giving up and putting in effort until the very end. During the busy springtime season of testing and final assignments, both students and teachers have the opportunity to persevere.

There are several reminders from our Awesome PTA:

Spring Book Fair Volunteers – April 13-20

The PTA is looking for volunteers to help at the Spring Book Fair.  They usually need some help with younger kids to figure out what they can afford, what they might be interested in reading, and just to straighten up the books after a class moves through.  It’s not difficult and is fun to help the kids out! If you can give any time to help during the school days on April 13 or April 16-20, please let the PTA know.

Art Festival – April 14

Be sure to plan to come out and see student art on display at the LCPS Art Festival.  It will be at Louisa County Middle School on Saturday, April 14 from 10am-2pm There will also be art activities.    This is always a fun event!

Ms. Ward is looking for volunteers to help at the activity booths – you do not need to have any art experience to do this and it’s a great way to help on a Saturday for those of you would like to volunteer but are unable to help during the week.  Thank you for considering helping!

Movie Night with Mom –April 19

Save the date!  Our last movie night of the school year is coming up on April 19   Doors will open at 6pm. We will be showing Coco and will start the movie at 6:15 in an effort to get everyone home in time for bed!   Pizza and snacks will be available for purchase.

2018-2019 PTA

If you (or someone you know) would be a great addition to the PTA Board, please let our Nominating Committee know before our April 11 meeting.   Cara Bennett, Katie Slegar and Brittany Hankins are our Nominating Committee. They will nominate an eligible person for President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary at the April 11 meeting and elections will be held at the May 9meeting.

Additionally, our Events & Fundraising Committee Chairs have each served 2 years so can no longer fill those roles.   If you might be interested in planning Events, Fundraising Campaigns, or in Hospitality (Staff and Volunteer Appreciation), please let the PTA  know.
