Kids Heart Challenge!

Kids Heart Challenge!
Posted on 02/06/2021

Hello Fox Family!

Yes, this has been a unique school year, but guess what? We are using new and exciting resources to partner up once again with our friends at the American Heart Association!

So get ready! Our NEW Kids Heart Challenge launches on February 1, 2121. To get registered and join the team, please click here! Don’t forget, if 50% of our students participate, after our KHC program raises the first $500, we can earn our school $500 to shop for new Physical Education equipment!

This year, as part of our new experience, kids can enjoy the new Digital Experience, and become Secret Agents on a mission with our friend, FINN! In this Digital Mission Experience, students will get daily Heart Hero challenges to complete. Students can earn thank you gifts and prizes, which will be distributed this spring! After you join our team, click on “Secret Agent Finn”, (below) to begin the KHC Digital Gym!

So, ready to get a head start on how this program works? Click here to watch an official trailer that has all the details, and then download the new KIDS HEART CHALLENGE app on your phone!

Especially this year, Moss-Nuckols Elementary School is so proud to partner with the American Heart Association as AHA supports people in our community, Commonwealth, and beyond during this pandemic. Together, we can help kids like our little friend “Finn”, in Virginia, who was born with heart disease. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in America, but now, people who have had a stroke or live with heart disease make up more than 40% of those hospitalized for COVID-19.  The AHA has already funded $2.5 Million in fast-response grants to study COVID-19.  This has made it possible to improve treatments more rapidly.  Read more about the AHA’s full COVID-19 response here.

We understand that every family may not be able to donate, but all students will enjoy (and learn from) the weekly missions and have the opportunity to use the tools provided in their Webpage and APP, to share what they learn about heart disease with your family and friends.  If you are able to use the tools they provide to help raise funds, the American Heart Association will put those to work right here in our community, and beyond! Thank you for being KIND to your heart, and others!

Thank you, from our HEARTS!
