August 16, 2020 School-based students

Greetings Fox Families!

This is Anita Roane, your principal with this week’s announcements. Last week we experienced a wonderful start to our school year.  It was such a great feeling to see the students back in the building.  Our students were happy and learning.  Thank you for sending your students with their masks and trusting us through this process.

Parents, don’t forget you have parent homework and we need you to complete the forms that were sent home last week. Please place the completed forms in your child’s fox folder to be returned to school.

The students will become more familiar with the characteristics of the Dens of Determination this week and what the crests symbolize.  You will receive a handout about them as well.  The handout will serve as a refresher for our returning foxes and new information for our first time foxes.  I am really excited about this positive points system that we use. It’s another way M-NES  builds character, relationships, and school spirit.

To help us make sure funds are going to the proper persons. Please remember that any money sent in needs to be in an envelope, as well as what the money is to be used for. If it is for their lunch account, we need to have their name and lunch number on the envelope.

As a reminder to our families, the Virginia Department of Health guidance states that if your child has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or if your child has been in close contact (meaning been within 6 feet of someone for more than 15 consecutive minutes) with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 your child should not come to school. Tomorrow and Tuesday we will be sending home a flyer from the Virginia Department of Health outlining these guidelines.  Please make sure you take a few minutes to read over this information.

Also, if your child has a fever, but is not diagnosed with COVID-19 it is important to remember to keep your child at home until 72 hours have passed with no fever- including no fever-reducing medication being utilized.

It is important for all of us to follow all of these guidelines to take care of one another.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you for all that you do to make our school the Epic M-NES that it is!  Have a great evening!

August 16, 2020 - Virtual Students

Greetings Fox Families!

This is Anita Roane, your principal with this week’s announcements. Last week we experienced a wonderful start to our school year.  Our students are happy and learning.  Thank you for trusting us through this process.

Parents, don’t forget you have parent homework and we need you to complete any forms needed by your virtual teachers.

The students will become more familiar with the characteristics of the Dens of Determination this week and what the crests symbolize.  You will receive information about them as well.  It will serve as a refresher for our returning foxes and new information for our first time foxes.  I am really excited about this positive point system that we use. It’s another way M-NES  builds character, relationships, and school spirit.  Although your child is in the Virtual Learning Academy, we want them to be included in this experience and as many as the school-based opportunities as we can.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you for all that you do to make our school the Epic M-NES that it is!  Have a great evening!
