Greetings Parents and Students!

My name is Tiffany Chatman and I would like to welcome you to a new and exciting year at Moss-Nuckols! I am very excited to work with you to ensure that Moss-Nuckols continues to establish itself as a world-class educational facility.

I am lucky to work in a field that I am extremely passionate about. I believe that education is the most important gift that we can give to young people and I believe that ALL students can learn. This fundamental belief in the educability of all students drives me to do what I do every day and do it with passion. My goal is to make every minute count every day with every child.

I, along with our talented team of faculty and staff, believe in the mission of our school which is to collaborate with families and community members to foster independent, life-long learners in a safe and nurturing environment. We strive daily to ensure that our students feel welcomed and safe while they are in school because we know that learning cannot take place unless children feel valued, secure, and loved. As our world continues to evolve, we also recognize the importance of helping our students to become lifelong learners that truly enjoy learning and we want to encourage them to be creative and curious as they approach their education. Finally, we believe that it is important that we engage and connect with members of our community to form meaningful partnerships that will support our students within the walls of Moss-Nuckols and beyond because we believe that it takes a village to help develop the precious minds of our students. You are a part of our village and we welcome you to take part in all opportunities to encourage our students to learn and grow.

It is my sincere hope that we are able to work together as a team of dedicated parents, teachers, students, staff, and administrators to move Moss-Nuckols to even higher levels of success.

I consider it a privilege to serve the Moss-Nuckols community and I am looking forward to working with all the wonderful students, teachers, and parents this year as we continue to strive for excellence in all of our endeavors. Let’s go Foxes!

Sincerely,

Tiffany Chatman

Hello Parents and Students,

I am very excited to be returning as the Assistant Principal at Moss-Nuckols Elementary. I have a great love for teaching and education. I believe that students get the building blocks to be successful throughout their education in elementary school. Each day, every student has the chance to learn something new and then apply it to life outside school. It is our job as educators to show them the paths to take on their educational journey

My own path to where I am today started in a small Maryland suburb of DC, which led to Towson University where I earned my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. I began teaching in Baltimore County just north of Baltimore City, teaching small groups and fourth grade After a few years of big city life my wife and I moved down to central Virginia for the slower pace and greener outdoors. I began working in Orange County as a Math coach and Instructional Technology Resource Teacher. During that time I attended the University of Mary Washington, earning my Masters of Education. After 5 years in Orange County, I joined Louisa as an ITRT and then became the Assistant Principal in 2014.

My wife and I have two young boys, who keep us active. Being from the Baltimore area and being a sports fan, I love the Ravens and the Orioles. I also enjoy running and being outside.

Sincerely,

Steve Allen
