Hello Fox Families!

This is Anita Roane, your principal with this week’s announcements. We are about a week and a half away from the first day of school! I hope the foxes are ready, we are ready for them!

As a reminder, Open House is being held by appointments only on either August 5th or August 6th.  Grades K-2 will have Open House on August 5th.  Pk and Early Childhood along with grades 3-5 will have Open House on August 6th. Please remember to assist with proper physical distancing, scheduled meetings will be held outside under tents and the wearing of face coverings is required. Our inclement weather dates are August 7th and 11th.

Here are some additional things to remember for Open House

Arrive 5 minutes early for check-in

Bring Chromebook or iPad from summer school in case the teachers want to show you something.

Remember if you purchased the device protection plan during the summer you do not have to pay again for insurance

Rising second graders who attended summer school need to trade in the iPad for a Chromebook

Open House will not be the time to drop off school supplies.

If you have any concerns regarding your student’s health or need to drop off medication please contact the school nurse by phone or email to make an appointment in advance.  She will be available during Open House.  Remember that medical consent forms and health plans can be found on the clinic page through the Moss-Nuckols website.  As a reminder, all prescribed medication that is stored in the clinic must have a new medical consent form signed by the parent/guardian and physician for the 2020-2021 school year.  Forms from last year are no longer valid.  To make an appointment please call 540-967-1347 ext. 1 or via email @ smithts@lcps.k12.va.us.

Everyone at TeamLCPS has been working diligently finalizing plans for the 2020-2021 school year.  We have been very intentional about communicating information to you as we receive guidance. Throughout this process, I have been so grateful for the support I’ve received from our Fox Families.

Today, I am debuting our Frequently Asked Questions page for our M-NES Fox Families by email addresses on file. It can also be found on our school website.   We are continuing to receive guidelines from the Governor’s Office, the CDC, and the Thomas Jefferson Health District. Please know, as we receive updated guidelines, the answers to some questions may evolve.

For the safety of everyone involved, visitors entering any LCPS building must wear a face covering and have your temperature taken at the self-help temperature station before you can fully enter the building.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you for all that you do to make our school the Epic M-NES that it is!  Have a great evening!
